The specificity is more than 99.5% which means that the test is highly selective for beta-HCG glycoprotein. The tests have an expiration date of 18 months and can be stored in a dry environment that ranges from 4 to 30 degrees Celsius.
It is recommended to carry out this type of test with the first urine of the morning, without having consumed excess liquid the hours before, since it could dilute the sample and make HCG more difficult to detect.
The positive result can be seen in 40 seconds, and the final result in less than 5 minutes. If the second line is very weak, this still indicates a positive result.
